National Trail Raceway

At National Trail Raceway the JEGS ET Series Pro class is one of the toughest classes to win a championship in, since 2012 there has not been a repeat champion.  This year was no different, as Caleb Ellison and his wheel standing Nova took home track championship for the very first time.

The season started off for Caleb on a perfect note as he parked his Nova in the Winner’s Circle at the first points race of the season.  After that event he continued to rack up points in the Pro class at each and every race.  It was a points battle for Caleb as he faced some very tough competitors each week swapping points leads with the likes of Todd Altenbach and Shawn Pitts all season.  Finally in August Caleb took the lead back when he picked up another win.  The win was a 93-point win and Caleb never lost the points lead again.  On the final race of the season with the Pro Championship secured, he raced his Nova to another final round appearance to cap of the season with one of the highest points total ever in Pro.

“I want to thank first and foremost the man that got me into racing and was by my side the entire year and I know he will be there supporting me at every race the rest of life, my dad Boomer.  I also want to thank my fiancé Bailey, my Mom (Sherri), my brother (Edmond), and all of my friends for their help and support this year. I couldn’t do it without you,” said an emotional Caleb. “I also want to say thank you to my great sponsors FTI, RBZ Billet and Hoosier Tires for their support. This season meant a lot to me, I haven’t run points a lot in my career and to bring home a track championship from Trails gives me the same gratification that I have had when I won the big money races.  The competition is so tough here that you have to be on your game at each and every race and each and every round.”

Caleb plans on coming back next year and looks to become a repeat champion in Pro and he also plans on making another run for the Super Pro championship in 2024.

Congrats to Caleb Ellison the 2023 JEGS ET Series Pro Track Champion!
