The Jr. Thunder class that competes in the JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series is always filled with tough competitors as they continue to hone their racing skills.  This year saw former champion, Wyatt Waddle, reclaim the top spot in the class before he moves up classes next year.

Wyatt Waddle and his team came into the season with a championship in their goals for 2023 and they did just that.  Waddle started the season with a semi-final finish at the opening JEGs.com Jr. Dragster Series event.  But it was the next race weekend that he really kicked into high gear as Waddle won the next three races taking the points lead and never looked back from there.  He did have a little slump at the next two races as he failed to get out of 1st round, but he was able to keep the points lead.  In the middle of the summer Wyatt got hot again he made it to three final rounds in a row and took home two wins during that stretch.  Going into the final points weekend the championship was already wrapped up, but Wyatt was able to park his car in the Winner’s circle one last time for the season.

“This championship means so much to me as it is my last in Jr. Thunder.  I have been watching my dad and brothers race ever since I was little and to be able to bring another championship home means the world to me,” said a very happy Wyatt Waddle. “I want to thank my Dad (Danny), Mom (Kim) and brothers Andrew and Christian for all their help and support as without them this wouldn’t have been possible.  I also want to say thank you to my sponsor Accurate Concrete Sawing for their support.”

Next year Wyatt plans on making a run at the Jr. Lightning championship as he moves up to that class and takes on some of the best racers Jr. Dragster racers in the country.

Congrats to Wyatt Waddle the 2023 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series Jr. Thunder Champion!
